On 15 March 2024, the European Council approved the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (known as CSDDD) which introduces new human rights and environmental due diligence obligations on EU and non-EU companies. While the actual implementation of the CSDDD will take some time, so will operationalizing the types of measures this mandatory legislation requires companies, to implement.
